I have been using Reach Broadband internet for over 5 years. In that 5 years, there have been hundreds of outages and I have been without internet a massive number of times. I have never once received any credit for the outages. I finally decided to start documenting the outages so everyone will know about Reach Broadband in Arp, Texas.

Abilene TV stations dropped from Reach Cable
The citizens of De Leon have watched all the Abilene stations their entire lives, or ever since cable started. As of Monday Feb. 2, 2015, all the Abilene TV stations have been dropped from De Leon's cable lineup. Cable viewers will no longer be able to get any news or weather for our specific area and no local news. Gorman customers, which are only 10 miles from De Leon, will continue to have the Abilene channels but will lose the DFW channels. Even though Reach's cable rates continue to rise, the number of channels is lower. As of Wed. Feb, 4, Reach still hasn't gotten the new cable lineup straight even though they had time to prepare for it. Two of the Abilene channels were replaced with the all Spanish Univision and another with QVC. Reach Broadband continues to work very hard in getting customers to switch to satellite.

Latest internet outage lasted 53+ hours
The last outage that started early Saturday morning ended this morning, making this latest outage 53+ hours for a total of over 83 hours of internet outage in 5 days. It's funny how it came back on this morning about the time Reach opened for Monday morning business, indicating they probably flipped a switch, meaning they allowed their customers to go without internet ALL WEEKEND because they were all off for the weekend and didn't want to bother with it.
Is there any internet service in the entire United States that could be this bad? If so, it's hard to imagine.

Reach Broadband internet outage 30+ hours
I haven't updated this blog in a long time, but the outages have continued as always the whole time. Wed. March 19 thru March 20, a complete area-wide outage was experienced for the entire cities of De Leon, Comanche and Gorman. Total time for customers being without internet - over 30 hours. As always, practically no one will receive any credit on their bill. As of this moment, my 2mb internet that I pay for is actually 0.19mb, which is so slow that I can hardly function.
Wouldn't it be nice if our mayor would take up for his citizens and put some pressure on Reach Broadband to provide better service to its customers? It never happened with Mayor Danny Owen, so it probably won't happen with Lowell Ercanbrack or future mayor Toby Hight.

TV Cable sinking to new depths
Reach has always had problems with its network channels. The reception is always bad. On April 8, NBC, which had always been on two different channels, was completely gone. Channel 9 NBC has been replaced with ARTS channel and when I saw it, all that was playing was ballet. I'm sure De Leon has a lot of ballet fans YEAH RIGHT.
March 25 internet outage
After enduring a 19 hour outage on March 24 and 25, the internet went back off at around midnight March 26 and didn't come back on until around 5pm on March 27. Total outage 17 hours.

TV Cable outage
3-30-13 TV cable out for several hours. This is usually the time of month that Reach doesn't pay their bill to DirecTV for feeds.

TV Cable outage
All networks were out on March 2 and 3. As usual, the DirecTV screen came up urging Reach Broadband to pay their past due bill. Even when the networks are on, the picture quality is bad.

TV cable out in De Leon for over 8 hours
Wednesday, Feb. 13th, De Leon's tv cable was out for over 8 hours. As in hundreds of times before, the Dish Network screen shows that indicates Reach Broadband didn't pay its bill. Calls to Reach once again resulted in rude customer service reps with bad attitudes. I wonder how they would feel if their tv and internet had went out hundreds of times in the past.

Big internet outage for 40+ hours
Saturday night/Sunday morning Feb. 10th, we had a small thunderstorm that blew through quickly and the internet went out in De Leon, Comanche and Gorman. It was fixed until late Monday afternoon, resulting in all Reach Broadband customers having no internet for over 40 hours. Calls to them resulted in rude customer "no service" reps refusing to answer questions about the situation. The TV cable was not affected or it was fixed quickly because they get more complaints from angry seniors, who are the only ones left that use cable since most others switched to satellite long ago. I've now had Reach Broadband for over 5 years and I have experienced over 200 outages in that time. Their service is primitive at best.

October 19, 2012 outage
12:56 am totally lost connectivity. Came back on at 4am. 4 hour outage. I do believe Reach is shutting people down at various hours during the night but they always deny it. Do you really expect them to admit it?

No ZZ Top for us!
A couple of weeks ago, Reach tv cable went out during Jay Leno when ZZ Top was the guest. Everyone around here had to miss out on this treat. We've even missed superbowls because of their incompetence.
